Why we love it
For instant on-the-go protection, this mineral powder foundation is combined with a broad spectrum SPF 25. Manufactured in New Zealand using vegan approved natural sunblock ingredients, it provides ongoing protection throughout the day from environmental damage. It is tested to the Latest 2018 NZ/AUS Standard – in vivo ISO 24444, which means that you can rest assured that your skin will be protected.
On The Go is oil free and non-comedogenic, meaning that it does not clog pores and lead to blemishes. This product absorbs excess oil, reduces redness and improves the appearance of the skin. It provides light coverage in three shades (light, medium and dark), and works perfectly for make up touch up during the day. We also recommend On The Go for use when recovering from dermatological treatments and plastic surgery, as it is comfortable to wear and helps to protect your skin whilst it is healing.
It is paraben, dye and fragrance free, with protective properties to help maintain the skins normal function and to keep the skin feeling and looking more youthful.
It’s natural and chemical free.
Mineral Sunscreens Versus Chemical Sunscreens
Mineral and chemical sunscreens are made up of two entirely different chemical formulas, so will react with the body in differing ways. Firstly, sunscreens that are made up of chemicals will absorb the sun’s rays before turning them into heat, which then disperses into the air. Their ingredients are absorbed into the dermal layer, causing damage before the protective element starts to work. As well as this questionable ability to protect our skin, these ingredients can cause disruption to our hormonal functions. By contrast, the mineral versions contain ingredients like titanium oxide or zinc oxide which act as a mirror, reflecting the sun’s rays. The particles are too large to be absorbed into the skin, so they sit on top, forming a barrier and preventing UVA rays from entering.
On The Go has avoided using ingredients such as parabens, petroleum jelly (which makes formulas feel hydrating) and silicone.
SPF numbers – what to choose?
Many people believe that the higher the SPF, the safer you are, but as DermNet New Zealand states, SPF 15 filters out 93% of UVB Rays, whereas SPF 30 filters out 97%, meaning there is only a small increased benefit. If it only takes 10 minutes for you to burn without sunscreen, then SPF 15 multiplies that by a factor of 15, so you could go 150 minutes before burning, but applying SPF 30 does not mean that you double the time. It is important when deciding on sun protection that you take into consideration the colour of your skin, your sensitivity to the sun, your family history, and how direct your exposure will be in the sun.
How to use
It is important to activate the brush before the first use: Press the brush down firmly on the back of your hand in a pumping movement until you start to see some powder. It’s useful to sweep your fingers on the brush, and when you see the little puff, that means your brush is ready to be used. You only need to do this the first time you use it.
Once you got the brush started, dab your powder where it is needed and blend in circular motion outwards. Apply in 2-3 layers in the morning for a fuller coverage and then touch up during the day as required. A little really does go a long way. Once you start using “On The Go”, there will be no going back.
Apply over the top of your make-up throughout the day to absorb excess oils, freshen your make-up and get the sun protection that you need. By layering sun protection, we ensure complete coverage throughout the day, which has been proven to reduce the signs of ageing and prevent cancer.
Perfect to use during outdoor sports and workouts, as it takes shine away and doesn't run during exercise. Convenient for a balding person to have handy when going out into the sun.
Safe for pregnancy and use by entire family (under 6 months of age, refer to GP)
